American Gothic This photo was taken by Gordon Parks in 1942 and it shows a janitor of some sort with the united states flag in the background and the man is colored in a racist America at the time of this captured photo Street Boy This photo was taken by Lewis Hine in 1910 of a young boy who is living on the streets and it is very powerful because it shows the living conditions that some people had to deal with back in the day. Young Curled Fronds Magnificent 8 Times This photo was taken by legendary photographer Karl Blossfeldt and i liked it because of how he curls kind of line up together

Composition 9/11

Image
Rule Of Thirds This photo is depicting the rule of thirds because the man is off centered to the bottom left meanwhile the american flag is taking up most of the space left by the photo. Simplicity “The falling man” Is part of simplicity because the picture is completely empty except for this man which the picture is also focused on. Lines This picture is apart of the lines category because the street is straight which is technically a line. Balance This picture is balanced because it is symmetrical which in turn is a way of balance and has shapes. Framing This picture has to do with framing because the broken buildings on the outside are setting a frame like area for the people in the very middle. Avoiding Mergers This picture is only focused on the women crying and there is no background other than her so it's more focused Discussion This final photo shows the president being told something while he is debating on what

Black And White Videos

SIN CITY I have never heard or seen this movie and the reason i picked it was because after researching it i found out that it is a quartet type of movie which means that there are 4 sides of the movie which the characters carry out and perform. The movie is set in a city full of sin hence the name which has several characters such as a vigilante looking for his lover, a child killer, an ex prostitute with her boyfriend getting revenge on an ex, and a grizzled cop. They each have their own backstories which is very important to the main idea of each of their goals in the movie. The reason why it is in black and white to my understanding is because it's to show the world around them isn't important and when color appears is because it is sort of highlighting the core parts to the main storyline. The trailer introduced us to the characters and their motives in the movie. It also showed some action shots and mainly showed us who the characters really were. The city is full of cri

Camera Operations

Camera Operations In a completely dark room a little hole is mad on a wall. That tiny hole would reflect light into the dark box and focus on whatever was in there. The hole acted like a lense of a modern day camera. The making of high quality glass lenses. A glass lense, a dark room, and some film were the parts to the camera back in the day. They both use film and the lenses to focus the image Light passes through the lense into the camera and exposes the film Auto is when the camera will take over the flash and exposure of the picture meanwhile Program mod is where you point and shoot and you can control the flash and exposure. Portrait mode is where you attempt to blur out the entire background to focus on one object. Sports mode is used to freeze motion by using the highest shutter speed. The photographer must set both shutter speed and aperture. It gives faster camera response time, more control over focus, and encourages better composition If y

Prompt Shoot Q/A

Prompt Shoot One of the challenges that i encountered was that lunch was over by the time me and my group got outside and there was only food in the trash cans so we had to find a food item that had not yet been discarded. I was mostly thinking of how to focus on the items that was required and at the same time try to blur out the background. If i could redo the assignment i would make it darker by turning down the brightness to ignore the sun's glare. I would use the same items i had and use the same technique. I am not going to post the photos because none of them had the rules of composition which we just learned I am interested in shooting the same prompts because they were really fun to shoot and they provided some sort of challenge to get them.
