"Like the proverbial snake eating its own tail, the Spring 2013 cover of Bloomberg Pursuits depicts a live alligator with an alligator wallet clamped slyly in its jaws. The cover line—“Where Luxury Begins (and Ends)”—doesn’t just wittily echo photographer Jamie Chung’s arresting image, it perfectly captures the story inside: a photo portfolio that highlights the raw materials behind our most luxurious goods. For those disquieted by the notion of sacrificing creatures for our consumables, our “Behind the Scenes” on page 12 reports that the efforts of the fashion industry actually saved Alligator mississippiensis from extinction."
This shows us the true way our clothing and accessories is really made from. This is a statement to change the way we make out stuff without making a species extinct.

Image Based: Image based covers are usually based off of one person ion the shoot and is a real close up shot and usually shows their face or features. It is only them in the shoot usually or on occasion they may have an object in there. Also it doesn't have to be a person it can be a place or thing as well, but people are the most common.

Illustration Based: These covers are usually drawings made by people that usually tell a story without any words. It focuses on the images true meaning rather than having a subject and can have several different meanings to it.

Type Based: These usually use words to explain what i going on rather than having an image or a drawing. This is rarely used though but a good one can be the difference to a good magazine vs a bad one. They usually have straight faced fonts meaning that they're serious or they have goofy or more comedic fonts to use and display.

Concept Based: This is a mixture of all three combined. It shows the real meaning with all methods above and can be the strongest type of cover to sue and one of the more common ones. It gets straight to the point and most of the time has a picture or illustration to go along with the words describing it.
